YOGI BIO

With a background deeply rooted in dance, Mackenzie discovered her passion for teaching early in her career but decided to expand and diversify her offerings. Recognizing the transformative power of yoga, she delved into its principles and philosophy, becoming a certified instructor under the direction of Gabrielle Sulk.

Upon the completion of her 200 HR certification, Mackenzie began her teaching journey in Annapolis, MD where she had the opportunity to teach at Prana studio for three years before moving to New York City.  Upon completion of her SUP Yoga certification, she was able to take her passion for instruction and movement to the water.  Her new certification was especially helpful at Elizabeth Seton High School where she headed up the dance program.  It was then that she was able to work with championship winning athletic teams at the school in the capacity of team bonding, cross training and mindfulness practices.

In and beyond the studio, Mackenzie has organized workshops, masterclasses, and community events to foster creativity, connection, and growth within her community.  With over 7 years of yoga teaching under her belt, Mackenzie diversified by teaching in studios, corporate spaces, and with athletic teams in the DMV area.

Since moving to NYC, she has been welcomed and embraced as an instructor at Daya Yoga studio in Bushwick and Ridgewood. She has been pinnacle in the return of SUP Yoga at Manhattan Kayak Company. Mackenzie has been most recently brought on as an instructor at Artful Soul & Wellness, a non-profit wellness space in Williamsburg. She has collaborated with small businesses to create unique partnered experiences. Partnerships including Vino Vinyasa classes at Red Hook Winery and High-on-Yoga at Skewville with the intention of building local welcoming communities for anyone to begin or continue their movement journey.

Mackenzie’s impact as an educator extends far beyond the physical aspects of dance and yoga. She believes in nurturing the whole person, helping her students develop self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of joy in their practice. Her genuine care for her students' well-being and her ability to create a supportive and nurturing environment have earned her the admiration and gratitude of those she teaches.
